maybe you need magnesium.
no matter how good you are eating, you would probably benefit from some supplemental magnesium.
magnesium is one of the supplements we recommend everyone take. it is the 4th most abundant mineral in the body. because of nutrient depleted soil, most of the foods we consume do not carry their typical magnesium load.
symptoms
here are the most common symptoms we see from magnesium deficiency:
- constipation.
- migraines.
- headaches.
- restless leg syndrome.
- cramping (esp at night).
- hypertension.
- physical and mental fatigue (just feeling run down).
- persistent under-eye twitch (I used to have this).
- tension in the upper back, shoulders and neck.
- poor sleep.
I personally noticed that my night leg cramps went away completely, my sleep got better, and I lost eye twitch!
what to do
- we recommend everyone supplement with at least 200mg per evening, ideally working your way up until you notice loose stools the next day. I’m personally at 400mg per evening. at 500mg I see noticeably looser stools in the morning.
-
we sell a great product in our office for $17 called Mg-Zyme which is a blend of very absorbable forms of magnesium. you can pick this up any time.
if you buy online look for chelated magnesiums (those ending in “-ate”). this one is fine.
-
we also recommend mineralizing your water with this product which includes some magnesium.
